DMCA and copyright policy
Last updated: September 27, 2026Our position on copyright
Smarters IPTV respects the rights of creators and copyright owners, and we expect the third-party suppliers whose services we resell to do the same. We follow the United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and the notice-and-notice system of Canada’s Copyright Act, and we act quickly on every valid notice.
We are an independent reseller. We do not host, store, upload or broadcast any video content on our own servers. We are not connected to, endorsed by or sponsored by any TV network, broadcaster, film studio or sports league. The streams themselves are supplied and managed by independent third-party providers. When a valid notice concerns content reachable through a service we resell, we send it on to the supplier involved and take whatever steps are open to us.
IPTV Smarters and the other player apps mentioned on this site are third-party software. We are not affiliated with their developers and we do not sell or distribute those apps.
How to file a copyright notice
Email your notice to contact@smartersiptv4k.ca and put “DMCA Notice” in the subject line. A notice can only be acted on when it contains all of the following:
- Your full legal name, postal address, phone number and email address.
- The copyrighted work you say is being infringed. If one notice covers several works, a representative list is enough.
- The material you say is infringing, described clearly enough for us to find it: for example the web address, the channel name, the title, and the date and time you saw it.
- A statement that you believe in good faith that the use of the material has not been authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you own the copyright or are authorized to act for the owner.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
A notice that is missing any of these items may be declined, or delayed while we ask you for the missing details.
Our response: within 24 hours
Every complete notice is reviewed within 24 hours of the time we receive it. When a notice is valid, we will:
- Pass the notice on to the third-party supplier that provides the content in question.
- Take any corrective action that is available to us as a reseller of that service.
- Send you an email confirming what was done.
Where Canadian law applies, notices are handled under the notice-and-notice provisions of the Copyright Act.
Repeat infringers: the accounts of subscribers found to have repeatedly infringed intellectual property rights will be closed.
Counter-notice
If you believe material was removed or blocked because of a mistake or because it was wrongly identified, you can send a counter-notice to contact@smartersiptv4k.ca with “DMCA Counter-Notice” in the subject line. It must include:
- Your name, postal address, phone number and email address.
- The material that was removed and where it could be found before it was removed.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith the material was removed because of a mistake or a wrong identification.
- Your agreement to the jurisdiction of the courts where you live: for residents of Canada, the courts of your province; for everyone else, the federal court that applies.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
We may share your counter-notice with the person who sent the original notice.
False or misleading notices
Section 512(f) of the DMCA provides that anyone who knowingly and materially misrepresents that material is infringing can be held liable for the resulting damages, including legal costs and lawyers’ fees. The same applies to counter-notices. If you are not sure whether the material infringes your copyright, please speak with a lawyer before sending a notice.
Notices under Canadian law
We are a Canadian service. Canada’s Copyright Act sets out its own notice-and-notice system for rights holders. We accept notices under the Canadian system as well as notices formatted under the United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), and we handle both through the same contact.
Copyright contact
For anything else about your subscription, please use the contact page or WhatsApp. Messages sent with a copyright subject line that are not copyright notices may not receive a reply.
This page is for general information and is not legal advice. Which content can be reached through the services we resell is decided by third-party suppliers and can change at any time. Subscribers are responsible for making sure their own viewing follows the laws where they live.
